Margaret Allison

The mood was perfect at St. Paul’s Church in Basel. Even in the US, this evening became known as the best gospel concert of all time in Europe. Margaret Allison was a star in the African American spiritual scene in America.  She was inducted into the «Hall of Fame» in 1997 for her traditional gospel performances, the highest honour for a singer in this genre. At her performance in 1997, you could not see or hear that the gospel diva was already 70 years old. She and her band enjoyed the enthusiastic reception they were given by the Basel audience.
