Singer and pianist Ray Charles Robinson, from Albany, who has been blind since earliest childhood turned professional musician at the tender age of 15. Ray advanced to become one of the great musical trendsetters. He developed his expressive and intensive soul style from gospel songs - A musical gourmet feast with R&B, blues, beat and other exquisite ingredients. His fascinating way of singing has also influenced musicians like Joe Cocker. Many of Ray Charles‘ songs have sold million fold – the most popular among them is «Georgia On My Mind». Behind the legend and the Grammy-Awards we find a likeable and modest man.
The opening act was performed by the impressive German Hammond-Organist Barbara Dennerlein with a trio-programme especially designed to open for Ray.
