«I'm a typical home child,» Morow openly admits in the Baloise Session's «Backline Blog». The up-and-coming Basel rapper has not only taken the Swiss music scene by storm, but also uses his platform to talk about mental health. In an exclusive interview, he talks about his turbulent youth, his musical development and his commitment to young people.
Morow's path to music was anything but straightforward. ‘My school days were a very turbulent time,’ he recalls. But it was precisely these challenges that shaped him as an artist and a person. His lyrics, initially more diary entries than lyrics, developed into powerful rap tracks that touch thousands. Particularly fascinating: Morow's perspective on courage and vulnerability. ‘For me, it doesn't feel brave to do this. Instead, I turn my vulnerability inside out, so to speak, so that nobody can do anything to me,’ he explains his open way of talking about personal issues.
He also did this at the Baloise Session school workshops, inspiring pupils from Kirschgarten Gymnasium to tell their own stories and write them into hip-hop verses.
